The results of activities in 2020 and tasks for the coming year – were the agenda of the meeting of the of the Gomel branch of the BelCCI team, that was also attended by the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich.
During her speech, General Director of Gomel branch of the BelCCI, Marina Filonova, noted that implementing 3 main areas (certification, examination and assessment, foreign economic activity), the Branch provides more than 50 types of services and is constantly expanding its presence throughout Gomel region and Belarus.
The range of services provided, their quality, efficiency and flexible pricing policy aimed at effective interaction with the customers made it possible to increase the number of Belarusian counterparties that interacted with the Gomel branch of the BelCCI to 3,087, which is 24.5% more than in 2019. At the same time, the activities of the department are maximally concentrated on business entities of Gomel region (95% of the total number of counterparties).
Contributing to the promotion of the interests of Belarusian business, the Branch will continue to take an active position in expanding interregional contacts, implementing action plans for cooperation with Russian regions and foreign countries, including organizing visits and receptions, congress, exhibition and fair events.
In her report on expert activities, Deputy General Director Tatyana Sidorova noted a 12% increase in the scope of expert activities, including 28% in the assessment of all types of property. Speaking about working with business entities, she said that special attention was paid to clarifying the legislation related to examination and certification. Ensuring the effectiveness of interaction, the work of branches and representative offices in the Gomel region, as well as groups of experts directly at the enterprises: OJSC “BMZ”, OJSC “Mozyr Oil Refinery”, the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant and the administration of the FEZ “Gomel-Raton” is carried out.
Summing up the results of the Department’s foreign economic activity, Deputy General Director Boris Gushchin noted that in 2020 the leading position in the BelCCI system was retained and 130 international events were held. The rapid transition to online working mode allowed us to lend a hand to the business in time. Despite the epidemiological situation, the Gomel branch of the BelCCI organized all 3 main image events of the region: XXI International Exhibition “Spring in Gomel”, XV Republican Fair “Polesye Skarbnitsa”, International event “Business Days in Gomel”.
The Branch has created GOMEL PRO BUSINESS, a virtual platform for promoting business interests, platform address is biz.ccigomel.by. Since its launch, over 50 online events were held on the platform, commercial offers of Belarusian and foreign enterprises have been posted. It should be noted that participation for members of the BelCCI was free.
Much attention was paid to the development of foreign language courses. When organizing training events, special emphasis was put on improving the professional level of marketing service. 25 seminars were held by the Gomel branch last year.
The experience of professional translators has allowed the Department to provide translation and interpretation into 23 foreign languages.
The Chairman of the BelCCI Vladimir Ulakhovich noted the performance of the Department of all indicators brought up for 2020 and outlined the importance of assisting business entities in foreign economic and especially export activities. Professional and quality work remains the main task. Vladimir Ulakhovich supported the initiative of the Gomel branch in the development of online communications in foreign economic activity:
“This is a good experience and I think it will become part of our work in the future, after the completion of epidemiological restrictions. The accumulated practice should be systematized. The new task facing you now is to develop this direction ”.
The Chairman drew attention to the need to continue the educational project “Academy of Export” in Mozyr region, that has the status of a region with accelerated socio-economic development. In addition, to promote the Polesie region, the Mozyr Economic Forum should be held annually simultaneously with the Republican Fair “Polesye Skarbnitsa”.
At the end of the event, Vladimir Ulakhovich presented the Gratitude certificates of the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for many years of conscientious work to the employees of the Gomel branch of the BelCCI: Director of the Svetlogorsk branch Elena Skurchaeva,
